Our Speciality

Oak Frames

Hand-cut oak frames using traditional joinery — porches, orangeries, structural oak. Built to last generations.

Crafted by Hand,
Built to Last

Working with oak is what we love most. There's nothing quite like seeing a green oak frame go from rough sawn timber to a finished structure — every joint hand-cut, every peg drawn home, every detail built to outlast the people who commissioned it.

Whether it's a small porch to greet visitors at your front door, a sun-drenched orangery, or a full structural frame for an extension or new build, we approach every oak project with the same care: traditional techniques, the finest green oak, and a finish that ages beautifully over decades.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an oak frame porch cost?

Most handcrafted oak porches cost between £4,500 and £8,500 in 2026 for a pitched-roof design, with simple canopies from around £2,500. Every frame is bespoke, so we provide a fixed quote against your design. See our oak frame porch cost guide for a full breakdown.

Do oak frames crack as they dry?

Yes — green oak naturally shakes (forms surface cracks) and silvers as it seasons. This is normal, expected and does not affect the structural strength of the frame. Many people prefer the character it gives.

Do you use traditional joinery on your oak frames?

Yes. We hand-cut every frame using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints secured with oak pegs — no steel fixings or shortcuts. It is how oak frames have been built for centuries and why they last generations.
